HP Product Advisor Software Demo
Challenge
HP launched the new Product Advisor software with Windows Vista in January 2007. The software allows users to proactively monitor functions on their HP PCs such as warranty information, patch status, security status and overall system health. The product received buzz during its display at CES 2007, but HP wanted to ensure that everyone who had a Vista-equipped machine knew that the Advisor was preinstalled and to encourage them to interact with it.
Solution
IDEA II teamed with HP's Beyond-the-Box group to create a 30-second Flash animation demo that provided awareness and excitement around the Product Advisor software. The piece utilized XML technology to allow for ease of internationalization and showcased the Advisor functions, encouraging users to click on and explore the application once the installation is complete. Creatively, IDEA II executed every aspect of the Flash demo, from copy and visuals to sound design and music, delivering an all-encompassing, front-to-back multimedia experience that was completely within HP brand.
Result
The HP Advisor Flash demo was extremely well-received from the Beyond-the-Box team and was added to the Vista image that ships with all HP PCs. The Flash demo has enabled end users who may have been unaware of the new Product Advisor to take full advantage of the innovative new software from HP.
