Sony Google Gadget
Client:
Sony Electronics, Inc., headquartered in San Diego, engineers, manufactures, markets and sells consumer and professional audio and video equipment, computer and peripheral products, recording media and energy products, semiconductors, and other electronic components.
Challenge:
Sony Electronics approached Idea with the task of creating a unique online advertising campaign that co-marketed the Sony® VAIO® line of notebook computers with their strategic partner, Intel. The goal of the campaign was to promote both brands by highlighting their complementing strengths of beauty and performance.
Solution:
Idea created a fully interactive, engaging campaign for the end user that featured the new Google-branded "Gadget" online ad unit. As a part of the "Beauty Inside" campaign, the Gadget focused on the "Beauty, Inside and Out" of the Sony VAIO TZ notebook. To this end, the Gadget for this campaign was created with four separate sections for the user to explore. Users could "Create Beauty" with various VAIO-branded animations, download wallpapers, take a look at the "Beauty Outside", or learn more about the "Beauty Inside" while watching a :30 video espousing the partnership between the VAIO and the Intel chip found within. Sony’s Google Gadget is now live and available for users to download and even add to their iGoogle homepage – further extending the reach of the campaign.
