User Experience Designer - Websites (Interactive Experiences)

The User Experience (UE) Designer will be responsible for collaborating with other UE team members to define the overall User Experience for a given project. The UE Designer will work to understand user goals, business goals, technology parameters and design constraints to create a user experience that will deliver success. Deliverables include User Personas, User Research Questionnaire, UE Strategy, Task Flows, Card Sort Plan, Information Architecture, Screen Inventory and Site Audits, Wireframes and Interaction Document. The candidate should have experience in designing the user experience for B2B and/or B2C dot com sites.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and evaluate visual human interfaces utilizing user-centered design principles
  • Work with direction from Senior UE Designers to design usable and memorable interactive experiences
  • Specify, Gather, Analyze, and interpret information that links an organization with its market environment
  • Conduct both primary and secondary research using qualitative and quantitative methods including surveys, interviews, focus groups, usability testing, card-sorting, and observational studies
  • Analyze target markets and segment it/them, conduct competitive intelligence, analyze current market condition, and extrapolate data for trend analysis
  • Develop wireframe diagrams of optimal solution interfaces
  • Develop sitemap of the web solution to indicated page structure and navigation per the wireframe design
  • Recommend SEO strategy
  • Design accessible interface

Qualifications:

BS/BA in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent work experience; 2-4 years of experience creating visual designs and interaction designs for web applications; strong visual interface design skills; strong hands-on prototyping skills; solid understanding of User Centered Design principles; ability to provide portfolio examples of relevant visual and interaction design work; ability to collaborate with a talented creative team and Web Development team and handle/incorporate constructive feedback; and must have a working knowledge of Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver or like technologies.
