Senior Art Director
The Senior Art Director has a strong foundation in graphic design and typography, and has a comprehensive understanding of interactive production. Must be able to take creative direction and follow client strategy, but also push the limits of the medium. It’s also equally important for this individual to have a confident presence with clients as well as the ability to effectively communicate ideas and strategies to both the non-interactive creative and the novice.
The Senior Art Director designs hands-on concepts for client projects and guides designers in layout of page design and graphic production. Ensures creative conceptual process is followed and is responsible for creation of project deliverables. Presents work at client meetings as necessary. Works with cross-functional team members to deliver and integrate creative/technical/information architecture solutions. The Senior Art Director is responsible for a design system style guide creation and for production assets for development. Coordinates with programmers on all projects.
Essential Functions:
- Participates in the development and planning of projects
- Conceives of ideas appropriate for interactive project goals
- Develops creative concepts and design styles for interactive projects
- Polished client presentation skills
- Produces comps/betas/storyboards for client presentations on assigned projects
- Makes proper technical requirement recommendations for each unique project
- Art directs photo shoots, film shoots and illustrations
- Assists creative director(s) and account executives in assessing resource needs for a particular project
- Produces or oversees production of style guides for interactive projects
- Keeps abreast of new developments and technologies pertinent to interactive marketing and communications
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Supports and mentors designers for maximum team effectiveness
- Periodically leads a team of designers and production artists (on a per project basis)
- Plans, assigns and directs work (on a per project basis)
- Advises creative director(s) and account executives on creative team needs
- Advises creative director(s) on issues regarding creative team budget for interactive projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in related field or equivalent experience
- 4-6 + years Web design experience
